My new novel; yes folks I have spent the winter on a novel
After years of dabbling in writing and storytelling, I finally took the plunge and wrote a novel. It’s called “The Veil of Echoes” and it’s a blend of climate fiction, consciousness exploration, and a touch of mystery. The story follows a group of characters navigating a world on the brink of ecological collapse, while also delving into the mysteries of human consciousness and the interconnectedness of all things.
I tried to weave in themes of hope, conciliation, cooperation also resilience amidst the challenges of our changing world. The core theme is bound to the ideas of the cross species initial meeting. This came about as I have an unusually large amount of Neanderthal DNA. Still only a few percent but more than most and one always wants to believe this was as a result of some deeper consensual connection. Also exploring the deeper questions of what it means to be human and how we relate to the planet and other human species now lost.
The initial spark came from the fact that I have been fascinated by the idea of consciousness and how it might evolve in the face of environmental challenges. Also the idea of distributed consciousness such as is found in octopuses. With their distributed nervous systems and unique cognitive abilities, octopuses have long been a source of fascination for scientists and nature enthusiasts alike. I wanted to explore how a world might look if we had to confront the challenges of climate change while also grappling with the mysteries of consciousness and our place in the natural world.
I wanted to explore how people might come together to find solutions, and how our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world might shift as we confront these issues.
It’s been a labor of love, and I’m excited to share it with readers. You can find “The Veil of Echoes” on Amazon Kindle now. I hope it resonates with you and sparks some thought-provoking conversations about our future and our place in the world.
If you’re interested in climate fiction or stories that explore consciousness and the human experience, I think you’ll find something to enjoy in “The Veil of Echoes.” It’s a story that aims to entertain while also encouraging reflection on the pressing issues we face as a society. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy the book!
